Welcome to The Village At Northstar

The Village At Northstar is a gem nestled in the stunning Truckee, California, offering a delightful blend of activities and amenities that cater to families, adventure seekers, and relaxation enthusiasts alike. With a solid rating of 4.5, this vibrant destination stands out as a premier choice for both winter and summer getaways.

The Village itself is brimming with charm, embodying a cozy, wooden mountain lodge vibe that transports visitors to a winter fairytale. As highlighted by various guests, such as Yurii Popovych, the entire environment feels warm and welcoming, making it a perfect place for creating unforgettable memories. The accommodations are not only beautiful but also incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restorative retreat after a day of exploring.

For those who enjoy summer adventure, The Village at Northstar transforms into an exciting hub for mountain biking, with reputable coaches like Jon and Eric providing top-notch lessons. Visitors can explore the scenic trails, shop in unique boutiques, and savor delectable meals at the on-site restaurants. As Ellan Chang pointed out, these summer activities offer a wonderful entertainment option for families seeking a bit of adventure.

In winter, The Village truly comes alive. Skiing enthusiasts revel in its status as a top-tier destination for snow sports, often likened to prestigious resorts like Deer Valley in Utah. The easy access to the gondola means that hitting the slopes is a breeze, allowing more time to enjoy the stunning scenery and exhilarating runs. Reviewers like A R have praised its high-end skiing experience, highlighting its appeal for both seasoned snowboarders and families alike.

While the village boasts numerous attractions, some guests, like Michael Plasterer, have noted that dining options are somewhat limited during off-peak hours, particularly in the summer. However, the strategic layout of the village allows for a pedestrian-friendly experience, making it easy to navigate and enjoy everything it has to offer without needing a car. With free parking available and kid-friendly activities such as roller skating and a children’s pool, families can effortlessly enjoy their stay.

Whether you’re looking for a winter wonderland or a summer adventure hub, The Village At Northstar serves as a perfect backdrop for a memorable escape. With its picturesque setting, cozy accommodations, and an array of activities for all ages, it stands as a beacon for those seeking both relaxation and adventure in the Sierra Nevada mountains. . Fun Mountain Biking Lessons with Awesome Coaches Jon & Eric - Great summer entertainment option for families staying at Northstar Village! . The Village at Northstar has wonderful restaurants and shops located in the heart of Northstar California Resort - within walking distance of your lodging. During summer months, Northstar Performance Demo is a great bike shop located in The Village, where you can purchase and rent equipment. They rent high quality, well-maintained mountain bikes, and their skilled technicians patiently fitted my family members with our helmets and protective gear, equipping us for the safest ride possible. . You can ride these top of the line bikes at Northstar California Mountain Bike Park (next door to The Village and part of the luxury resort), which offers excitement and fun for mountain bikers of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Northstar California Resort offers downhill biking lessons as an entertainment option for their guests, and the group lessons are especially helpful for families wanting to learn key skills and safety tips. The private lessons are well worth the money for families through advanced riders, and coaches Jon & Eric rock! They both have years of experience, can definitely help you skill up, and these fantastic coaches can turn a nice visit into an awesome day of adventures! . In winter, resort guests enjoy skiing and The Village's outdoor ice skating rink, so we were thrilled to discover a summertime activity that was fun and actually interesting to our difficult to please teenagers (you know what I'm talking about). With private lessons, riders of different skill levels can be accommodated, and thanks to Jon & Eric's great coaching, our teens learned enough to hit intermediate trails on Day 1! The other advantage of private lessons was that the kids had a coach to accompany them - since none of their adults could keep up! Parents will appreciate that they can feel good about bowing out for relaxation and libations back in The Village, confident that their kids are riding the trails with a responsible, biking-experienced adult. . With The VIllage bike/ski lifts, bike/ski shop, ice rink, and restaurants all located together next to resort lodging, you can quickly go back to change clothes and get to a yummy restaurant without getting back into the car, all very close to where your kids are biking/skiing/skating. . If you're looking for some excitement and adventure (or something to interest/entice your teens away from their electronics) while staying at Northstar California Resort, visit Northstar Performance Demo in The Village to rent your bikes and book your biking lessons with Coaches Jon & Eric! We were so glad that we did!! .

This is a beautiful village, making Northstar the highest end skiing experience in the Lake Tahoe area. I like to call it the Deer Valley of Utah or Beaver Creek of Colorado. It's not quite as good as both of those places, but it is getting there. I will say the village is a little sleepy in the summer, as not many of the stores and restaurants are open. The wintertime is definitely more lively here.

My family and I came up to visit this spot as a surprise getaway, and had so much fun! We watched the mountain bikers race all weekend, went up and down the gondola and ski lift, shopped, road our scooter up and down the village, watch the band play & roller skated in the skating rink, enjoyed all the dining, shops, and candy stores. We will defitely be back!! Love this place!

We went to Village at Northstar with a group of friends for a snow trip, and it was absolutely magical. The whole place has this cozy, wooden mountain lodge vibe that makes you feel like you’re in a winter fairytale. The hotel is stunning, super comfortable, and beautifully designed — everything feels warm and welcoming. There's a gondola right there, which made it super easy to hit the slopes. We had such a great time just walking around the village, grabbing coffee, and enjoying the snowy atmosphere. It's the kind of place you never want to leave, and we’re already dreaming of coming back. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a beautiful and unforgettable mountain getaway.

Overall, the village is lovely, especially if you're staying there and don't need to catch a shuttle. The main downsides are the limited number of food/drink options, and they roll the place up super super early. Also, what's up with a coffee shop that closes early afternoon? Bring back Starbucks, or better, put in a Peet's, or even better better, some home grown no-brand coffee shop.
